Lava has now officially launched the Lava Virat V1 Pro 5G in India that features a 50MP rear shooter, 6000mAh battery, 120Hz refresh rate display, and stock Android 16 OS. The device is priced at Rs 15,999 but is available with an effective price tag of Rs 13,999 thanks to a special offer.

With the addition of the Lava Virat V1 Pro 5G to its recently launched line of smartphones under the Virat range, Lava has added yet another offering in India. This is the third entry under the Virat series which has been launched just one month after Lava unveiled the Virat V1 and Virat V1 5G smartphones. As the name indicates, Lava Virat V1 Pro 5G will be placed just above the ordinary Virat V1 5G in terms of specifications, while still sticking to the same chipset (Unisoc T8200), 6000mAh battery, and IP64 certification.

This time, the new phone from Lava continues with the tradition of offering a minimal software experience. This is because it ships with stock Android 16 and promises an update to Android 17 along with two years of security patches. For the price segment in which this phone falls, the 5G connection, 6GB RAM, 128GB storage space, and no bloatware interface can make it worth considering for buyers.

Lava Virat V1 Pro 5G Price in India and Sale Date

The Lava Virat V1 Pro 5G price in India has been listed at Rs 15,999. The smartphone will come in one variant only, which will have 6GB RAM and 128GB storage. The smartphone will become available from August 31st at 12 PM IST via Flipkart. There are two colour options available for this smartphone: Sikkim Midnight and Spiti Frost.

In addition, there is an offer at the time of the launch of this smartphone that will help buyers get a much cheaper smartphone. With the help of the credit card of their choice, buyers can avail of an instant discount of Rs 2,000 while purchasing the smartphone. Thus, the launch price of this smartphone comes to Rs 13,999, making it even more competitive in the Rs 15,000 segment.

What is quite surprising about this smartphone is that it will also be available in offline mode through the offline retail channels of Lava under the name Lava Shark 2 Pro 5G.

Lava Virat V1 Pro 5G Specifications

The Lava Virat V1 Pro 5G has a 6.74 inch HD+ LCD panel that offers support for a 120Hz refresh rate. This would mean that the device will be quite smooth in terms of scrolling and animations when compared to a 60Hz refresh rate. The maximum brightness that the screen will get is 550 nits.

Inside the Lava Virat V1 Pro 5G is the Unisoc T8200 chipset, the same one used in the earlier launched Virat V1 5G. According to Lava, the Lava Virat V1 Pro 5G will have over 5,00,000 AnTuTu score, implying that the device is meant for day-to-day tasks and not gaming. This includes WhatsApp, Instagram, and YouTube among other things.

This mobile phone offers a 128GB internal memory that can be upgraded with an additional 1TB through a microSD card. Additionally, this phone can leverage Lava’s technology that allows it to increase its available RAM up to 6GB. This combination of 6GB of RAM and expandable memory is an edge that makes the phone better for those who have lots of applications and media files stored on the phone.

Major Camera Upgrade

In addition to other updates, one of the most important improvements in the new Lava phone is related to its camera. The phone boasts of a 50MP rear camera, which is definitely better than the 13MP camera that could be found in the standard Virat V1 5G smartphone. Although pixel count is not always responsible for good picture, the increased resolution may help Lava to work on improving details and image processing.

The other camera has also been improved and now boasts of 8MP instead of 5MP in the standard phone. However, both rear and front cameras can take videos with the resolution of up to 2K at 30 fps.

In addition, Lava added the possibility of taking Dual-View Video, meaning that users will be able to record videos from the front and the rear camera simultaneously. It may be quite helpful for vloggers and creators.

6000mAh Battery and 18W Fast Charging

Battery life is yet another feature of this phone that the Lava Virat V1 Pro 5G wants to differentiate itself in. The mobile phone features a battery with a capacity of 6,000 mAh, which is bigger compared to the batteries used in many phones in the same category. Users who use the phone a lot for browsing social media, watching videos, chatting, and navigation will have enough power from this battery to last throughout the day.

Fast charging is another feature of the phone and this mobile phone is capable of charging at 18 W. Although this is not the highest rate of fast charging in the market in this category, this makes the big battery easier to recharge.

Clean Android 16 Software Experience

Another area in which Lava has been able to make a difference with their smartphones is in software. The Virat V1 Pro 5G features Android 16 right from the factory and boasts of a user interface that does not come with any form of bloatware.

An Android 17 update along with two years of security patches for the smartphone has also been guaranteed by Lava. Despite the fact that the commitment to update may not be that impressive in comparison with some of the premium smartphones, the software experience itself could be quite appealing to customers.

Other Features of the Lava Virat V1 Pro 5G

Lava Virat V1 Pro 5G maintains some useful features that are slowly going out of use in smartphones. The smartphone offers a 3.5 mm headphone jack port so that users can attach wired earphones without requiring any adapter. Also, there is a side-placed fingerprint sensor for biometric security.

Lava Virat V1 Pro 5G smartphone has a hybrid SIM slot that can take in either two SIM cards or one SIM card and one microSD card. This will be quite helpful for those customers who want more storage space but don’t necessarily require two SIM cards.

In addition, the phone enjoys the IP64 rating. This means that it will give some protection from both dust and water splashing. However, it is not waterproof, which means that it cannot be submerged in water. The good thing about this phone is the free home service program by Lava.

It is worth noting that Lava offers a free home service program. This means that if the customer is facing problems with their phone, the problem can be sorted out from their home.

Should You Buy the Lava Virat V1 Pro 5G?

Lava's Virat V1 Pro 5G looks like an obvious step-up from the standard Virat V1 5G, at least to those buyers who are interested in the camera hardware and RAM/Storage. The increase in megapixels from 13MP to 50MP on the main camera and from 5MP to 8MP on the front one is likely to provide the Pro version with more competitive camera hardware, while 6GB RAM and 128GB Storage is definitely better.

The Unisoc T8200 chipset does not target gaming but should work well enough to cope with everyday smartphone usage. 6,000 mAh is another positive point about it, especially for those buyers who look for a phone with decent endurance.

With the help of 2,000 rupees' credit card discount that makes it an effective launch price of 13,999 rupees, the phone looks especially appealing. With 5G, 6GB RAM, 128GB Storage, 120Hz screen, 50MP camera, pure Android 16 and 6,000 mAh battery, Lava has a rather good combination for the money.

While the smartphone is set to compete with other models such as Realme, iQOO and Tecno in relation to its chipset performance and fast charging speed, the emphasis by Lava on having clean software, good hardware, and after-sales convenience adds to the proposition of the Virat V1 Pro 5G.

For those interested in purchasing a 5G phone below Rs 20,000 with a lot of RAM and internal storage, big battery and clean Android OS, the Lava Virat V1 Pro 5G undoubtedly deserves consideration. In order to conclude whether this model makes for a good choice or not, one should wait for the review of this model's camera performance, battery life and general chipset performance, but on paper, the latest addition to the Virat line of smartphones seems promising indeed.
