For some time now, the area of smart glasses in India has been dominated by very costly imported models and experimental prototypes. But things have just changed with Lenskart entering this market with a bang by making early reservations possible for its latest B by Lenskart smart glasses.

This new offering from Lenskart was first revealed in November. It then fell silent, with no word of it since. But things just got interesting with the launch of the B by Lenskart and the price tag for this innovation.
Pricing of Lenskart B Smart Glasses
Among the major points about B by Lenskart glasses, one could mention the use of an active pricing policy on their part. Thus, early adopters of the gadget have the ability to get a pair for only ₹22,000, with the general selling price being ₹27,000.
Compared to the competing product Ray-Ban Meta Smart Glasses Gen 2, starting from roughly ₹39,900, this is quite affordable for a customer who wants to try a smart wearable device.
Designed Like Regular Glasses, Packed With Smart Tech
Initially, it might be hard to distinguish the B smart glasses from ordinary ones. They come in two versions the clear lens and the sunglasses model yet preserve the traditional design with somewhat bulky sides accommodating internal mechanisms.
The front camera is rather compact and located on the side. It is designed not to make the device appear too much like an electronic gadget. Most importantly, the B smart glasses accept lenses ranging from -6 to +6, making them an actual replacement for the existing glasses instead of being just another accessory.
Performance
Under the hood, Lenskart is using the Qualcomm Snapdragon AR1 Gen 1 chipset—the same platform found in Meta’s smart glasses lineup. This ensures the device is far from underpowered.
You also get:
32GB onboard storage
Bluetooth 5.3 connectivity
Compatibility with Android 12+ and iOS 18+
This hardware combination makes the glasses capable enough for real-world daily tasks without feeling like a prototype device.
AI at the Core With Google Gemini Integration
Instead of positioning these glasses as a content-creation device, Lenskart is focusing heavily on AI-powered functionality via Google Gemini.
Users can:
Interact with the assistant via voice
Take quick notes on the go
Use the “Look & Tell” feature to identify objects in real-time
Access support for 40+ languages, a particularly important feature for India’s diverse user base
This approach makes the glasses more practical for everyday use think productivity, assistance, and quick information access rather than just social sharing.
Camera and Battery
The B smart glasses include a 12MP camera capable of 1080p video recording. While this is decent, it’s clearly not trying to compete with premium content-focused wearables.
Battery performance is fairly balanced:
Up to 4 hours on the glasses themselves
Up to 48 hours with the charging case
Fast charging: 50% in just 15 minutes
This makes them suitable for intermittent daily use rather than continuous heavy usage.
How It Compares to Meta’s Smart Glasses
When compared to Meta’s offerings:
Ray-Ban Meta Gen 2: Better video (up to 3K), stronger ecosystem, longer battery
Meta Ray-Ban Display version: Adds built-in display and gesture controls (~₹70,000)
However, Lenskart’s strategy is different. Instead of chasing high-end features, it delivers a simpler, more affordable, and practical experience.
For many users, that trade-off makes sense especially for first-time buyers.
Availability and Early Access Details
The early registrations for purchasing the lenses have started through the Lenskart’s website. The products will come in two color variations initially i.e. Black and Silver.
The launch schedule is still awaited although a gradual launch seems to show that the company is being careful about their customer response.
Although the B by Lenskart smart glasses might not boast the best specifications when compared with other devices in the same category, they definitely do not need them. Rather, what they can deliver might actually be even more important something practical, affordable, and made locally.
With Indians having shown immense interest in smart wearables but holding back on purchasing one because of their prohibitive prices, this particular device might well be the one to change that.
This product might just be one of the coolest ones to have been launched recently in India with a focus on artificial intelligence.
