Nothing has officially announced an all-new member joining its popular Phone series, called the Nothing Phone (3a) Lite, which will be the company's first-ever "Lite" model. The bold design and unique approach that Nothing is known for has now been brought to the competitive budget smartphone segment, rubbing shoulders with the likes of iQOO, Redmi, Realme, and Vivo. It has launched in Europe and the UK, but will also make it to India soon. While it is priced something around Rs 26,000 internationally, the India pricing should be a tad lower, potentially starting under Rs 20,999, which would make this the most affordable Nothing smartphone yet.

Though there's a lot of DNA shared from the Phone (3a) and the Phone (3a) Pro, the Nothing Phone (3a) Lite brings in a design language closer to the flagship Nothing Phone (3). While it may skip the iconic Glyph Matrix lighting of the series, the company has kept one Glyph Light at the bottom-right corner, in order to keep things clean and minimal. The phone will come in White and Black shades with a premium glass finish to maintain the identity of Nothing's design.
On the front, the Nothing Phone 3a Lite boasts a 6.77-inch FHD+ AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate for a fluid experience. The screen further supports HDR10+, 3000 nits peak brightness, and Panda Glass protection; in general, it's a solid offering for media consumption and outdoor visibility.
Under the hood, it relies on the MediaTek Dimensity 7300 Pro chipset, coupled with 8GB LPDDR4X RAM and 256GB UFS 2.2 internal storage, expandable up to 2TB with a microSD card. This processor has proved its efficiency on a number of smartphones in the sub-₹30,000 category, offering smooth day-to-day performance, multitasking, and even moderate gaming.
The Nothing Phone 3a Lite has a highly capable camera setup: a 50MP primary camera with EIS, an 8MP ultra-wide lens, and a 2MP macro sensor form a pretty versatile ensemble. It can record 4K videos at 30fps, and 10x digital zoom is supported. For the front camera, you get a 16MP selfie shooter ideal for clear photos and video calls.
While it doesn't carry the high-end camera algorithms of the Pro variant, the setup is impressive for a phone in this price segment, ensuring balanced image quality and color reproduction in most lighting conditions.
The device will debut with Android 15 out of the box, paired with Nothing OS 3.5, which features a close-to-stock UI with minimal clutter. This time, though, for the very first time, Nothing has added Instagram, Facebook, and TikTok as pre-installed apps; this is pretty different from what Nothing has been doing earlier, keeping it bloat-free. Users can uninstall these apps if they prefer a clean setup.
It will definitely get the update to Android 16-based Nothing OS 4.0 at the beginning of 2026, along with two more OS upgrades and six years of security updates, ensuring long-term reliability.
Nothing has added the AI-powered Essential Space, a new addition to the software that's designed to efficiently organize and manage content. This shows Nothing's growing focus on integrating AI features into its ecosystem.
The device is powered by a 5,000mAh battery that has support for 33W fast charging. The charging speed is pretty modest considering the competition offers up to 90W, but the big battery should still be enough to last all day with ease under regular conditions. Other features include an in-display fingerprint sensor, bottom speaker, and IP54 rating for dust and water resistance.
Nothing hasn't provided an official launch date for India, but as per sources, a possible launch could be very near. Since the Phone (3a) launched for ₹24,999, the Phone (3a) Lite should be priced between ₹19,999 and ₹20,999 to appeal to budget-conscious users who want to enjoy the Nothing experience on a budget. Final thoughts The Nothing Phone (3a) Lite is a bold step for the company as it ventures into the affordable segment of smartphones. With a premium design, solid performance, dependable camera setup, and long-term software support, it's shaping up to be one of the most promising budget phones of the year. For those users who have admired the style and innovation of Nothing and found the previous models pricey, the Phone (3a) Lite could be the perfect way into this ecosystem.
