All of this provides a clear indication of what buyers can expect from the upcoming device.
The OnePlus Nord 6 will launch in India tomorrow evening at 7 PM. The launch of this new mid-range phone from OnePlus will be live-streamed on the company's social media handles. Sales will commence on April 9 at 12 PM on Amazon India, the official OnePlus website, and several selected offline stores. Additionally, OnePlus is expanding its network of over 600 service centers across India, which will enhance after-sales support. This phone is available in three color options: Holographic Quick Silver, Fresh Mint, and Pitch Black.
OnePlus Nord 6 Expected Price
It has been confirmed that the price of the OnePlus Nord 6 will fall between ₹35,000 and ₹40,000. (For reference, the Nord 5 was priced at ₹31,999.) This implies that, despite the recent rise in smartphone prices driven by a shortage of memory chips, the cost of the Nord 6 will remain under ₹40,000. This will firmly establish the device within the premium mid-range segment an arena where competition is constantly intensifying. Bank offers and introductory discounts are expected after the launch.
Performance and Processor
In terms of performance, the Nord 6 is powered by a Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 processor featuring a peak clock speed of 3.2 GHz. Additionally, much like the OnePlus 15, the phone will feature a dedicated G2 Wi-Fi chip, which helps maintain superior connectivity in areas with weak signal strength. Thanks to a dedicated Touch Reflex chip and a six-axis gyroscope, the device will support frame rates of up to 165fps in games such as Battlegrounds Mobile India. The company claims that the Nord 6 delivers up to 136% better CPU performance, 64% better GPU performance, and 25% better AI capabilities compared to previous models. It also supports advanced 5G features.
Display and Gaming Features
This handset is expected to feature a 1.5K AMOLED display with a 165Hz refresh rate meaning it will support up to 165 FPS in select games such as Bungie, Call of Duty Mobile, and Free Fire Max. It will also come equipped with a 3200Hz touch sampling rate and a dedicated Touch Reflex Chip for competitive gaming.
Battery and Charging
Now, let's discuss the most standout feature of this handset: its battery. It is equipped with a massive 9000mAh Silicon-Carbon battery a significant upgrade over the 6800mAh battery found in the Nord 5. OnePlus claims that this is the largest battery in its segment and can last for over 2.5 days on a single charge. It is capable of delivering 26 hours of YouTube streaming, 16 hours of Google Maps navigation, and 6.3 hours of 4K video recording. Additionally, it supports 80W fast charging, which can fully charge the device in approximately 70 minutes. It also features a Bypass Charging mode, which translates to reduced heat generation and improved battery longevity.
Camera Specifications
Speaking of cameras, the Nord 6 features a 50MP Sony camera with OIS for the primary lens, along with a secondary 8MP ultra-wide-angle camera. For selfies and video calls, there will be a 32MP front camera.
Durability
The phone will also feature IP66, IP68, IP69, and IP69K water and dust resistance ratings, meaning it can withstand submersion in water up to 1.5 meters deep for 30 minutes, as well as jets of cold or hot water directed from any angle. Furthermore, to safeguard the front display, it will come equipped with Crystal Guard glass protection. Inside the box, along with the device itself, users will receive a pre-applied screen protector and a protective case. To put it simply, the design of the OnePlus Nord 6 is expected to resemble that of the OnePlus 15, featuring a square-shaped camera module on the back.
Software and AI Features
The OnePlus Nord 6 will launch with OxygenOS 16, based on Android 16. The company claims that this device will come with support for 4 major Android updates and 6 years of security updates. Additionally, it will feature several AI capabilities, such as AI Ghostwriter, AI Scan, AI Eraser, AI Unblur, Real-time Translation, and Mind Space.
Connectivity Features
The OnePlus Nord 6 is set to feature a custom G2 Wi-Fi chip and support for 5G Advanced. It is reported that this new chip enhances signal reception in congested environments and delivers data speeds up to three times faster when using a Jio SIM card. Additionally, it will offer cross-platform file sharing, regardless of whether the other device runs on Android or Apple, Windows or Mac.
The OnePlus Nord 6 could emerge as this year's most powerful mid-range phone, offering a strong combination of gaming capabilities, battery life, and performance. If priced aggressively, it could become the best-value phone in its segment.
