It seems that Realme is preparing itself for launching a Harry Potter edition phone in India with teaser on Flipkart and un-official render indicating a customized Realme 16 Pro. Let us find out all we know about its launch date, design and price.

Realme seems to have brought some magic to their line of smartphones through their upcoming Harry Potter-themed smartphone in India. The company is teasing a special edition device on Flipkart, while there are even leaks from unofficial renders found on the internet. Even though Realme hasn’t released any official information regarding the name or specs of this upcoming smartphone, there are some strong indicators that this could be the Harry Potter Edition of the Realme 16 Pro.
One of the strongest indicators comes in the form of a teaser posted by Chase Xu, the Vice President of Realme on X wearing a Hogwarts robe. The post says "See you on 8 September," which means that Realme could be making an official announcement regarding their Harry Potter-themed smartphone on September 8. It is unknown if this date would mean the actual release or just an introduction to the device.
Realme Harry Potter Edition Teased on Flipkart
There is also a teaser from Realme on the website of Flipkart which makes the claim even stronger. In this teaser, there are three old-fashioned suitcases which are shown on a luggage rack along with the words “Let The Magic Begin” and “Coming Soon”. Although, this teaser does not contain any mention of Harry Potter or the Realme 16 Pro, but all the visual elements seem to be centered on the world of Harry Potter with an apparent reference to the famous Platform 9¾.
With the help of the teaser on Flipkart and the appearance of Chase Xu in the world of Hogwarts, it seems like Realme is planning to launch a special edition of a smartphone based on its current lineup. This information might be shared officially on September 8.
Design Revealed in Unofficial Render
A leaky unofficial render courtesy of tipster Sudhanshu Ambhore, who reportedly has since retracted it, gives a much better idea of how the new smartphone will look like. In the image, one can see the phone with its rear having a dark-brown surface, which looks as if it were made out of leather and has diamond-shaped patterns. The overall look of the phone is clearly different from a regular phone, as it seems like it was designed specifically to appeal to Harry Potter enthusiasts.
The device also comes with gold-colored edges to give it a more premium feel. A big square camera bump is placed in the upper-left corner of the rear, and in the middle of the rear is an iconic metallic Hogwarts crest. It contains symbols of four Hogwarts houses and comes with the Latin motto: "Draco Dormiens Nunquam Titillandus."
The branding with Harry Potter logo is also reportedly present below the Hogwarts crest. On the other hand, from the front view, one can notice that the phone has the typical punch-hole design. It means that probably most changes have to do with the exterior and branding, as well as maybe the software experience.
Realme 16 Pro Harry Potter Edition Specifications
It appears that the Harry Potter Edition might not see a significant update in terms of hardware in comparison to the regular Realme 16 Pro edition. In particular, the rumored specs include 12GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage, both of which options are currently available for the Realme 16 Pro in India.
In case Realme uses the same hardware inside the smartphone, the Harry Potter Edition might come with a 6.78 inches AMOLED screen featuring 1272 x 2772-pixel resolution as well as a 144Hz refresh rate. Thus, the display is likely to be the most important aspect that will ensure a pleasant user experience when playing games, scrolling down webpages and consuming multimedia content.
The Realme 16 Pro uses the MediaTek Dimensity 7300 Max chip for power, while the battery of the phone is large (7,000 mAh). The device can be charged quickly thanks to the 80W fast charging system. In case all of the aforementioned specs apply to the Harry Potter Edition, buyers will be able to enjoy a decent performance level along with a huge battery and fast charging capabilities.
Camera
Alternatively, the camera system could also be left the same. The regular version of the Realme 16 Pro already has a 200MP main camera that is coupled with optical image stabilization (OIS), together with an 8MP ultra-wide camera. In terms of the front camera, the device has a 50MP front camera in the punch-hole.
As of now, there is no evidence that Realme has plans of using a different camera system for the Harry Potter Edition. It makes sense because it implies that the device will not be an entirely new product but only a variation themed after Harry Potter.
Realme 16 Pro Harry Potter Edition Price in India
Price for Realme 16 Pro Harry Potter Edition is not disclosed in India. According to the sources, the configuration of Realme 16 Pro with 12GB RAM and 256GB internal memory is priced at Rs 36,999 in the Indian market. However, Realme 16 Pro range prices have been raised now, and the smartphones with those specifications cost from Rs 44,999 to Rs 49,999 now.
As for the price of Realme 16 Pro Harry Potter Edition, it may cost more than the regular version owing to the customization and exclusiveness. However, the price for the smartphone is not confirmed yet, so it is too early to make any assumptions regarding the price.
For customers, who prioritize specifications and the value for money, the standard version of Realme 16 Pro can be more appropriate. However, if we are talking about collectors and franchise enthusiasts, who do not mind paying extra for a special design, Harry Potter branding and limited edition product, then Realme 16 Pro Harry Potter Edition will suit them better.
However, this is not the first time a smartphone producer has resorted to Harry Potter as a means of creating a unique-edition phone. There have been several times when Xiaomi has released Harry Potter-themed smartphones, including the Redmi Note 12 Turbo Harry Potter Edition of 2023 and Redmi Turbo 3 Harry Potter Edition of 2024.
This is becoming a common occurrence in the smartphone industry as rather than having to come up with entirely new hardware, smartphone companies can simply pick a phone that already exists and differentiate it through special materials, color, logo, packaging, and software components. This approach has also been used in the creation of other themed smartphones like those for Marvel and Iron Man.
In the case of Realme, the Harry Potter Edition could present a chance for the company to create something unique from the already well-endowed Realme 16 Pro. Through the theme of Hogwarts combined with the current features of the phone, the smartphone could turn out to be quite appealing.
