OPPO Reno 17 Series Launch Date Confirmed With 8,000mAh Battery and 50MP Cameras
OPPO has confirmed that the Reno 17 series will launch in China on November 9, 2026. The lineup could include the Reno 17, Reno 17c and Reno 17 Pro, featuring 1.5K 120Hz OLED displays, 50MP cameras, 80W charging and larger batteries. Here's everything we know about its expected specifications and India launch timeline.

The Chinese technology company, OPPO, has formally announced that its latest premium mid-range smartphone range, Reno 17 series, will hit China in November 9, 2026. It is reported that the new range of phones is going to be better than the existing one i.e., Reno 16 series in terms of battery power, cameras, and design. Although nothing official has been disclosed by OPPO regarding the Indian launch of the phone yet, tipster Gadgetsdata predicts that OPPO is planning to launch its Reno 17 series somewhere in December 2026 in India.
One of the major highlights of the coming Reno 17 lineup is its revamped rear design. OPPO has begun teasing the handset, showing its exclusive glow cat design at the back. The teaser indicates that the company might stick with the classic square-shaped camera island design seen in the Reno 16 lineup, comprising of three camera rings and the LED flash. But the new glow effect might give the phone a unique look. The design is supposed to look different from the 3D Pop Planet design in the Reno 16 lineup, which included the floating planetary effect, glittery feel and an ornamental ring around the camera module. It is also claimed through leaks that OPPO could launch the Reno 17 series in various color options like Snow White, Ice Moon White, Cocoa Brown, Starlight Pink and Encounter Cat. The Encounter Cat model could have the glow effect at the back.
Talking about the specifications, the OPPO Reno 17 series is expected to feature different processors depending on the model. According to tipster Gadgetsdata, the standard Reno 17 could be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 chipset, while the Reno 17c may come with the MediaTek Dimensity 7300 processor. Meanwhile, the Reno 17 Pro is tipped to feature the Dimensity 8550 chipset. All three smartphones are reportedly expected to feature 1.5K OLED displays with a 120Hz refresh rate, providing smoother scrolling and an improved viewing experience. The lineup could also support 80W wired fast charging and offer IP69-rated protection against dust and water.
The camera module could also be one of the key aspects of focus for the Reno 17 range of smartphones. As per some recent leaks, the phones are expected to house a three-camera system that comprises a 50-megapixel primary camera lens, a 50-megapixel ultrawide lens and a 50-megapixel telephoto lens. In addition, as per the tip from Digital Chat Station, Reno 17 and Reno 17 Pro are expected to sport a 50-megapixel periscope telephoto camera, which will allow improved zooming functionality than traditional telephoto camera lenses. There could be a Snap Key, too, which can give quick access to certain functions of the smartphone. Reno 17c, however, could be different in its build-up as it is expected to have a plastic frame.
The battery capacity can become one of the most significant improvements that the OPPO Reno 17 series will bring along. As was revealed in the previous leaks from Digital Chat Station, the base version of the Reno 17 will have a screen of 6.5 inches as well as a battery of 8,000mAh-class capacity. The Reno 17 Pro is expected to feature a slightly smaller screen of 6.3 inches and a battery of 7,200mAh-class capacity. Assuming these numbers are correct, the future devices will be equipped with much bigger batteries compared to their predecessors. In particular, the Reno 16 series offered 6,700mAh batteries, while the Reno 16c had a larger 7,000mAh battery. Moreover, both devices were capable of 80W wired fast charging.
However, the processor choices suggest that OPPO may not focus heavily on performance improvements this time. Earlier reports indicated that the Reno 17 and Reno 17 Pro could retain chipsets from their respective predecessors rather than introduce a major performance upgrade. This suggests that OPPO could be prioritising battery life, camera hardware and design improvements over raw processing power. With component prices continuing to rise, retaining existing platforms could also help the company manage manufacturing costs while introducing upgrades in other areas.
For reference, the OPPO Reno 16 and Reno 16c were launched in India in July 2026, with starting prices of Rs 61,999 and Rs 46,999, respectively. The Reno 16 came with a 6,700mAh battery, while the Reno 16c offered a 7,000mAh battery, and both supported 80W charging. The upcoming Reno 17 series could bring a more noticeable improvement in battery capacity, especially if the standard model launches with an 8,000mAh-class battery. However, the final specifications, Indian pricing and availability details are still awaited.
In terms of competition, the OPPO Reno 17 series could go up against upcoming premium mid-range smartphones, including the Vivo S70 lineup. With its November 9 launch in China approaching, more official details about the design, specifications and features should become available soon. Indian buyers who are planning to purchase the Reno 16 or Reno 16c may also want to wait for the expected December launch, particularly if they are looking for better battery life and more versatile camera hardware. However, it would be worth waiting for the official Indian pricing before making a final buying decision.
