Samsung Galaxy S27

It seems that Samsung may be planning its next mini flagship smartphone in India, with Galaxy S27 having obtained BIS certification. This certification indicates that the company may be proceeding with its preparation process for the launch of this smartphone in India. This comes after the smartphone was spotted on the 3C Certification platform in China, whereas a listing by NBD has shed light on some of its specifications.

Samsung Galaxy S27 India Launch Details

As per the BIS database (via), a Samsung smartphone having the model number SM-S952B/DS has obtained the certification in India. It is speculated that this model number belongs to the standard Samsung Galaxy S27 model. While the BIS listing doesn’t specify anything related to the Galaxy S27 name and its hardware specifications, it can be said that this is an indication that the phone might soon launch in India.

Samsung usually rolls out its flagship Galaxy S series smartphones in January or February. As per the release schedule of the company, the Galaxy S27 series smartphones will likely launch in the first few months of next year in several countries, including India. Along with the standard version, the BIS listing may also include other rumored models like the Galaxy S27+, Galaxy S27 Pro and Galaxy S27 Ultra. But, Samsung has not made any confirmation regarding its release date or lineup yet.

As per the information available, the Samsung Galaxy S26 smartphone had a starting price of Rs 87,999 in India. There’s no official confirmation from the company about the release date or pricing of the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S27 smartphone.

Samsung Galaxy S27 Specifications (Expected)

Despite the absence of any official data concerning the Samsung Galaxy S27 smartphone, there is an NBD database entry that apparently indicates some of its features. The new compact flagship is said to have a 6.3-inch AMOLED screen and be equipped with Samsung's Exynos 2700 chipset. In addition, the new device is expected to come with 12 GB RAM and 256 GB internal storage capacity; yet, more detailed information on memory and storage options has not been revealed yet.

It was also reported that the smartphone is listed on the Chinese 3C certification platform indicating 25 W charging option. It seems that Samsung will not offer its next-generation compact flagship a faster charging speed as its predecessor, Galaxy S26, also has the 25 W charging speed.

In terms of the camera, the new device is expected to have a 50 MP main camera using a Sony sensor instead of the ISOCELL sensor in its predecessor. It is also rumored that the Galaxy S27 will be equipped with a 12 MP ultrawide camera and a 10 MP telephoto camera as well as with a 12 MP front-facing camera.

What Could Be Different Compared to the Galaxy S26?

From the announced specifications, it becomes clear that Samsung can rely on the vast majority of the current hardware setup with the Galaxy S27. The current Samsung Galaxy S26 model is equipped with a 6.3-inch 120Hz Dynamic AMOLED 2X screen, Exynos 2600 chipset (in India) as well as a triple rear camera setup including a 50MP main sensor with OIS, a 12MP ultrawide camera and a 10MP telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom.

Consequently, the biggest difference in the new smartphone might consist of the newer Exynos 2700 chipset and the rumored changed main camera sensor. Nevertheless, it is still too early to understand whether those differences will make any significant difference when using the phone for its daily purposes, taking photos or saving power.

BIS certification gives a hint that Samsung is preparing the Galaxy S27 smartphone for India, however, the company has not officially confirmed its specifications, price range and release date. People interested in purchasing a smaller flagship Samsung smartphone should wait for more details before making their final decision.
