Samsung Exynos 2700 Geekbench Leak Reveals Huge Galaxy S27 Performance Boost

The Samsung Exynos 2700 may be one of the strongest flagship chipsets from the brand. According to new Geekbench benchmark scores, along with the 2nm architecture, 10-core CPU, and Xclipse 970 GPU, the Exynos 2700 may make the Galaxy S27 a potential threat to other top-end flagships.

Samsung is set to unveil one of its most ambitious Exynos processors yet. The forthcoming Exynos 2700 will reportedly drive at least some iterations of the Galaxy S27 lineup, and initial Geekbench numbers imply that Samsung might be making a lot of progress in bridging the performance gap with rival Snapdragon and Dimensity solutions.
Based on the latest Geekbench 6.7.1 benchmark run, the Exynos 2700 apparently scored 4,328 points on the single-core test and 14,700 points on the multi-core test. In theory, this represents a pretty solid improvement compared to the previously known public score from April which was 2,603 and 10,350 respectively. It's worth noting that these two scores were obtained with different versions of Geekbench, so no direct comparison can be made.
Also, the specs for the new Exynos 2700 make it even more fascinating than before. According to Samsung, it will adopt a new 10-core configuration for its CPU made of two cores of C2 Ultra and eight cores of C2 Pro. The Ultra cores could reportedly hit the frequency up to 4.24GHz, while the Pro cores could run at frequencies of 3.74GHz and 2.88GHz depending on their configuration. Such an approach may allow Samsung to provide even greater flexibility in terms of balancing the maximum performance, workload, and efficiency.
Yet another aspect that can be considered as important is the size of cache. It appears to be quite large compared to other competing products, and its value is reportedly 40MB in total. As compared to 24MB of the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 and MediaTek Dimensity 9500, Samsung's solution looks promising in the context of improved performance.
Though the Geekbench scores seem high, one has to keep in mind that this chipset will have to contend against the next generation of Snapdragon and Dimensity chips and not the previous generations. The engineering sample of the MediaTek Dimensity 9600 Pro chipset has already scored somewhere around 4,200 to 4,300 points on single-core and 12,000 to 12,500 points on multi-core tests. It is worth noting that the engineering sample of this chipset was run at only 2.8GHz clock speed on prime cores despite claims that the chipset could achieve a maximum speed of 4.55GHz.
Qualcomm's next generation Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 is also in the process of being tested. However, the prototype numbers of this chipset cannot be considered conclusive at the moment since a prototype iQOO device could score only 3,434 points in the single-core test and 9,334 points in the multi-core test.
Beyond just adding more power to its CPU, there is speculation that the Exynos 2700 will include additional enhancements such as Xclipse 970 GPU, enhanced NPU, and LPDDR6 memory. All three additions could make a huge difference when it comes to gaming performance and AI-related tasks. However, there are several other factors besides benchmarks that would influence the real-world performance of the new Samsung chipset when installed in a smartphone.
Thermal management, battery capacity, sustained performance, and Samsung’s software optimization will make a large difference on how well the chipset works in practice. A chipset might score exceptionally well in benchmarks but behave differently in real-world gaming or intensive tasks when placed in a smartphone.
The Exynos 2700 may well end up being one of the most important chipsets that Samsung has developed in a long time for its Galaxy S27 range. Assuming the benchmarks are not too far off from the real world performance, Samsung would seem to have a capable Exynos flagship SoC with which it could challenge Snapdragon and Dimensity chips.
For now, though, we should take the results on Geekbench as early signs of the performance to come, rather than any definitive evidence. It will be the development engineering samples and, ultimately, the commercial Galaxy S27 models that will reveal if the Exynos 2700 delivers the performance that Samsung seems to be aiming for.
