The Chinese phone manufacturer Vivo has made a daring move in the mid-range mobile segment by releasing Vivo Y600 Pro in China, and the thing the company values most about the new model is clearly its battery capacity. With smartphones on the market boasting only 5,000mAh – 7,000mAh battery capacities, the choice to give the Y600 Pro the battery power of 10,200mAh is nothing short of a major revolution. The fact that Vivo was able to increase their smartphone's battery capacity by nearly 2 times within just two models' release is particularly striking, especially since no compromises were made regarding the smartphone's design.

A Massive Battery Without the Bulk
It goes without saying that the most outstanding aspect of the Vivo Y600 Pro is its 10,200mAh Si-C battery with a power output of 38Wh. Indeed, this is not just a modest improvement compared to the 5,500mAh battery present in the Y400 Pro but even beats the 7,000mAh one available in the Y500 Pro. However, the smartphone remains remarkably thin measuring merely 8.25mm thick, i.e., being only 0.4mm thicker compared to its forerunner. This is made possible due to using the fourth-generation Si-C battery with 15% silicon content and high energy density of 886Wh/L.
Practically speaking, this translates into outstanding endurance: Vivo promises a whopping 24 hours of working time per charge. Specifically, you can expect 47 hours of talking and 28 hours of playing videos. Even more impressively, the company assures that the battery life will remain stable throughout six years or roughly 1,600 cycles, which is significantly higher than the average 500 to 800 cycles across the industry. Moreover, fast-charging capability of 90W along with reverse wired charging make the Vivo Y600 Pro quite versatile in terms of both charging and providing electricity to others.
Display and Performance
In terms of its display, the Vivo Y600 Pro comes equipped with a 6.83-inch screen with AMOLED technology. It boasts a high-quality full HD+ resolution with an impressive 120Hz refresh rate that makes scrolling across all content, including video, look smooth and pleasant. In addition, using the energy-efficient AMOLED screen will be another step towards energy-saving.
As for the chip set, the new smartphone is built around the MediaTek Dimensity 7300e chipset. This processor emphasizes energy saving rather than performance, which matches the concept of the whole device well. Although it does not promise outstanding performance, it still should be able to cope with all day-to-day operations, multitasking, and even some games without draining the battery quickly.
Camera Setup
As far as the cameras go, the Vivo Y600 Pro does not complicate matters. It comes with a 50MP main camera with OIS, allowing for stable photos even in low-light conditions. It also sports a second rear-facing camera that functions as an infrared blaster. On the front side, there’s a 32MP selfie shooter.
This is not a smartphone designed to be used exclusively as a photography device. Vivo makes no such claims here. Its primary goal is to provide solid camera performance without affecting its main selling point – battery capacity.
Premium Features in a Midrange Package
The Y600 Pro being centered around the battery doesn't lack high-end features either. It boasts an in-display fingerprint scanner, is dust and waterproof according to IP68/ IP69 certifications, and operates on Origin OS 6 running Android 16. Such features add up to the general performance and help achieve that all-around feeling of completeness.
Pricing and Availability
For China, the Vivo Y600 Pro's price is set to start at CNY 1,999 (approximately ₹28,000) for its 8GB + 128GB configuration, whereas the price for the highest capacity one, i.e., the 12GB + 512GB, will be at CNY 2,899 (approximately ₹40,200). The smartphone will be made available for purchase from April 30th onwards.
Coming to India, no details have been announced officially thus far. However, based on the Y400 Pro which was unveiled in June last year in India for ₹24,999, a June release could be on the cards once again.
The Vivo Y600 Pro competes in a market where majority of the mobile phones in use utilize batteries ranging up to 6,000mAh. A few others have made it up to the 7,000mAh mark, while competition such as the Realme P4 Power and Narzo Power use 10,001mAh battery sizes. It is also believed that the Redmi mobiles is developing various models of phones with 10,000mAh batteries.
The fact that Vivo was among the earliest brands to venture into this niche provides it with a competitive edge.
Clearly, the Vivo Y600 Pro was created for someone with a specific preference when it comes to a mobile phone the ability to work without charging for many hours. In case you cannot cope with frequent recharging of your smartphone or you need something that would easily last for a whole day of intensive usage, you should pay attention to this particular option.
Of course, in case you prefer gaming or photography features as well as slim designs in your devices, you should look for some other products since there are enough smartphones which will satisfy your needs and are worth purchasing in 2026, too.
Nevertheless, the Y600 Pro is not trying to compete with others in everything but focuses only on one thing and develops its other features accordingly to this goal.
In such a way, the company might redefine user expectations from a battery in midrange smartphones.
