Motorola has finally made its entry into the premium book foldable smartphone category in India with the release of the Motorola Razr Fold. Following years of perfecting its line of flip-style Razrs, Motorola has decided to finally compete against well-established foldable rivals such as the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold7, Google Pixel 10 Pro Fold, and Vivo X Fold5 with a top-of-the-line foldable smartphone that pays a lot of attention to camera systems, battery capacity, displays, and software longevity.

The price of the base model begins at Rs 1,49,999. The new Motorola Razr Fold features some impressive flagship specs, such as a Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 SoC, three 50 MP rear shooters, a gigantic 6,000 mAh silicon-carbon battery, advanced LTPO AMOLED displays, and even seven years of Android OS and security upgrades.
Motorola Razr Fold Price in India and Availability
The Motorola Razr Fold comes in three different variants in India, catering to users looking for different storage and premium edition options.
Variant | Launch Price | Effective Price With Offers |
12GB + 256GB | Rs 1,49,999 | Rs 1,39,999 |
16GB + 512GB | Rs 1,59,999 | Rs 1,49,999 |

Either way, the buyer gets an instant bank discount of Rs 10,000 or an exchange offer of Rs 10,000. This makes Razr Fold very much affordable due to its pricing, thus increasing its competitiveness amongst other similar products from its ultra-premium competition.
In addition to this, the buyer can opt for no-cost EMI plans ranging up to 18 months through selected financial partners of Motorola. It is claimed that the base model of Razr can be acquired for as low as Rs 7,778 monthly using the combination of exchange and EMI options.
For Jio customers purchasing the Razr Fold, there are some extra benefits available for selected Rs 449 plans, which include three months of access to Hotstar, 5000GB cloud storage with Pro Gemini, exclusive shopping offers through Tira and Ajio, and travel deals through EaseMyTrip.
Lastly, Motorola is addressing the issues related to the durability of folding smartphones. To do this, a special one-time screen replacement option has been offered to the customer at no extra cost if purchased before June 20.

Motorola Razr Fold Design and Display
Motorola claims that the Razr Fold was developed based on their experiences with clamshell foldables for years. From 2019 until now, Motorola has been working to improve the hinge engineering, screen durability, and foldable optimization with their Razr Flip series. Hence, the Razr Fold was developed out of their experiences.
The foldable device has an elegant design language that is modernized with a luxurious touch from its finish designs. For instance, the PANTONE Blackened Blue model has a finish inspired by the Diamond Piqué material, whereas the PANTONE Lily White model comes with a silk-like texture. Furthermore, there is a FIFA World Cup 2026 Edition for football fanatics who are searching for exclusivity.
The highlight of the Razr Fold is its gigantic 8.1 inches LTPO Extreme AMOLED inner display. This panel comes with an almost square ratio at 8:7.2 along with a resolution of 2484 x 2232 pixels in 2K. The display has a high refresh rate of up to 120Hz, along with an outstanding peak brightness of 6,200 nits.
The panel is protected using Ultra Thin Glass technology, which Motorola claims improves durability while maintaining flexibility for long-term folding usage.
On the outside, the device includes a 6.6-inch LTPO Extreme AMOLED cover display with a taller 21:9 aspect ratio. The cover display supports an even higher 165Hz refresh rate alongside a 6,000-nit peak brightness level.
Interestingly, this is also the first foldable smartphone to feature Corning Gorilla Glass Ceramic 3 protection on the outer display. Both screens are Pantone Validated and support HDR10+, Dolby Vision, Always-On Display, and Water Touch functionality.
Camera Setup
However, the claims made by Motorola regarding its camera system are very ambitious. Based on the company's statement, the Razr Fold scored 164 points from DxOMark, becoming the highest-scoring foldable smartphone camera ever recorded.
In the camera department, the Razr Fold boasts a three-camera 50MP array consisting of:
50MP Sony LYTIA 828 primary sensor equipped with optical image stabilization
50MP ultra-wide camera with an aperture value of f/2.0
50MP telephoto periscope camera powered by Sony LYTIA 600 sensor with OIS
As mentioned previously, this setup will guarantee top-tier photo-taking performance at all focal points that have been a major issue among other foldable devices.
On the other hand, the phone comes equipped with a 20MP camera that can be used when folded and a different 32MP camera for taking photos in unfolded mode.
Video capabilities of the device are just as impressive, featuring 8K video shooting up to 30 frames per second and 4K recording at 60fps. In addition, Dolby Vision video recording is supported by the Razr Fold.
Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 Powers the Foldable
The Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 processor with a 3nm process architecture forms the core of the Razr Fold smartphone. Although some users might have hoped to see the updated 'Elite' branding on the processor, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 is still among the most potent processors that come pre-installed in Android phones at present.
This processor comes mated with up to 16GB LPDDR5X RAM and 512GB UFS 4.1 storage in India. Furthermore, Motorola has included RAM Boost support, which essentially acts as a virtual memory manager for your phone. From gaming and multitasking to productivity and AI, the Razr Fold appears to be made for any and all kinds of tasks.
Largest Battery Ever on a Foldable Phone
Battery life has often been a weak point for foldable smartphones, but Motorola is attempting to change that trend with a massive 6,000mAh silicon-carbon battery inside the Razr Fold.
This is currently among the largest batteries ever seen on a foldable smartphone and matches the battery capacity found on devices like the Vivo X Fold5.
Motorola claims the device can deliver over 43 hours of usage on a single charge. Charging speeds are also flagship-grade:
80W wired charging
50W wireless charging
5W reverse wireless charging
The company says the bundled 90W TurboPower charger can charge the device from 0 to 30 percent in around 10 minutes and achieve a full charge in roughly one hour.
Android 16 With Seven Years of Updates
The Motorola Razr Fold ships with Android 16 out of the box. One of the biggest highlights here is Motorola’s software commitment.
The company is promising:
7 years of Android OS upgrades
7 years of security updates
This places Motorola alongside Samsung and Google in terms of long-term Android software support.
The phone also comes packed with AI-powered software features under Moto AI branding, including:
Catch Me Up
Pay Attention
Remember This
Recall
Image Studio
Playlist Studio
Next Move
Google Gemini integration is also deeply embedded into the experience, and Motorola has included a dedicated AI key for faster access.
Connectivity and Audio Features
The Razr Fold checks nearly every flagship connectivity box available today. Features include:
Wi-Fi 7
Bluetooth 6.0
UWB support
NFC
eSIM
Physical SIM slot
USB Type-C with USB 3.2 Gen 1
DisplayPort 1.2 output
The phone also carries IP48 and IP49 ratings for improved water resistance.
For multimedia, Motorola has partnered with Bose for stereo speaker tuning, and Dolby Atmos support is included for immersive audio performance.
Motorola Razr Fold is yet another high-end and highly competitive foldable smartphone coming to the Indian market. Coming in at Rs 1.49 lakh, the device gives a run for its money to the Galaxy Z Fold7 while boasting unique hardware highlights including better battery life, 3 x 50 MP cameras, brighter displays, quicker charging speed, and improved software longevity.
In particular, the Razr Fold might appeal to those consumers who give high priority to audio/video streaming, camera quality, battery endurance, and usability in general. The one-time free screen replacement offer offered by Motorola also serves to attract the attention of first-time foldable customers.
Nevertheless, Samsung still holds a great advantage in terms of software compatibility and foldable apps optimization. What Motorola needs to do now is demonstrate sufficient hinge longevity and provide the best foldable experience overall.
Nonetheless, based on paper specifications only, the new foldable device from Motorola is arguably one of the most versatile products of this class introduced to India till now.
