Realme 15x Launches in India with 7000mAh Battery and 144Hz Display under Rs 20,000

Realme has launched the Realme 15x in India officially, adding strength to its ever-growing number-series lineup. The Realme 15x is presented as an affordable 5G smartphone, aimed at users who expect enormous battery life, silky-smooth performance, and AI-driven cameras without splurging money. The launch comes on the heels of recent additions including the Realme 15, Realme 15T, and Realme 15 Pro, and now also adds to the fray in India's buzzing sub-Rs 20,000 space.

Realme 15x

With its distinctive blend of gigantic battery, cutting-edge display, and sleek looks, the Realme 15x is crafted to appeal to students, young professionals, gamers, and price-sensitive consumers looking for a device that can perform both in longevity and day-to-day usage. Let's take a closer look at its specs and discover what makes it tick and what lacks.

Realme 15x Battery

The real crown jewel of the Realme 15x is its whopping 7000mAh battery, among the largest in its class. This places it on par with behemoths such as the Realme P4 and OPPO K13, both for their long battery life. Realme asserts that the device has no trouble going for a full two days with just a single charging session, making it the perfect choice for power users and gamers who hate toting a power bank around.

The charging won't be a problem either since the device has 60W SUPERVOOC fast charging support. Surprisingly, Realme has packed the box with an 80W charger since the firm doesn't produce a 60W charger. To add to that, the phone also offers 6.5W reverse charging so users can charge small devices such as TWS earbuds on the move. That makes the Realme 15 times more practical in everyday usage scenarios.

Realme 15x Performance

Under the hood, the Realme 15x is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 6300 processor. While this chipset is efficient, it is commonly seen in smartphones priced under Rs 10,000. For a phone in the Rs 16,999–Rs 19,999 price range, this may feel like a compromise, especially when compared to rivals such as the Infinix Note 50s 5G+ with Dimensity 7300 Ultimate or the OPPO K13 with Snapdragon 6 Gen 4.

For everyday users, students, and light gamers, the performance will be smooth enough. But for heavy users looking for high-quality gaming or multitasking, it might be less impressive compared to other smartphones in the same category.

Realme 15x Display

The Realme 15x features an expansive 6.8-inch HD+ "Sunlight Display" with 144Hz refresh rate and 1,200 nits peak brightness. This setup not only provides smoothest ever scrolling and animations but also excellent sunlight legibility, ideal for outdoor use.

The high refresh rate will appeal to mobile gamers who crave fluid frame rates, while regular users will appreciate the smooth UI experience while browsing, scrolling, or watching videos. However, Realme’s choice of HD+ resolution rather than Full HD+ may disappoint some users looking for sharper visuals.

AI Camera Features for Content Creators

On the camera side, the Realme 15x features a 50MP Sony IMX852 rear primary sensor along with a 50MP AI front camera. The single rear sensor may seem restrictive, but Realme has squeezed in several features to make up for it. Buyers can try out cinematic video recording, dual-view video, slow-motion video, time-lapse, and even underwater photography.

The phone also has onboard AI tools such as AI Edit Genie, AI Landscape, and AI Eraser, allowing creators to have convenient editing at their fingertips without relying on third-party software. That being said, not having a second ultra-wide or depth camera might limit flexibility, particularly for photography experts.

Storage, Software, and Connectivity

The Realme 15x has up to 8GB RAM and 256GB internal storage, and supports up to 10GB Dynamic RAM expansion for enhanced multitasking. It is powered by realme UI 6.0 based on Android 15, although Realme has not indicated how many OS or security updates the device will be given.

Connectivity features of the smartphone include 5G + 5G dual-mode, Wi-Fi 5, and Bluetooth 5.3, providing a contemporary and trusted wireless experience.

Slim Profile, Premium Design, and Pulse Light

In spite of being equipped with an enormous battery, the Realme 15x retains a slender profile of only 8.28mm and has a weight of only 212g. It is covered with an IP69-rated water and dust protection, which is uncommon in this category.

As an added design attraction, Realme brings a new 'Crystal Wave' design with the revolutionary Pulse Light system. Placed on the rear, the Pulse Light features nine colors and five lighting modes, which can be personalized for notifications, calls, or charging reminders.

The phone will come in three color options: Aqua Blue, Marine Blue, and Maroon Red. Realme has also included a 400% volume mode with water-expelling speaker vibration technology, not only making the speakers louder but also protecting them from damage caused by water.

Realme 15x Price in India and Availability

The Realme 15x India price begins at Rs 16,999 for the 6GB + 128GB model, Rs 17,999 for the 8GB + 128GB model, and Rs 19,999 for the high-end 8GB + 256GB variant. As launch offers, customers can benefit from bank discounts, UPI offers, exchange bonuses, and six months of no-cost EMI, which reduce the prices further.

The phone will go on sale from October 1, 2025, on Flipkart, realme.com, and offline mainline retailers.

Realme 15x is a good option for Indian consumers looking for a long battery life, lag-free 144Hz display, and premium look at affordable pricing. With 7000mAh battery with fast charging, AI cameras, and Pulse Light design, it is a great value-for-money offering in the sub-Rs 20,000 segment.

Yet, the phone may fall short for power users and photography enthusiasts with its entry-level Dimensity 6300 processor and single rear cameras. Competitors such as the Infinix Note 50s 5G+ or OPPO K13 boast more capable processors and adaptable camera configurations. If your priority is battery life, display smoothness, and a chic contemporary design, the Realme 15x is definitely worth checking out. However, if you prioritize outright performance or professional-grade photography, you might be better off looking elsewhere in the same price bracket.
