Motorola is set to release its newest flagship smartphone, the Moto X70 Air, in China in the near future. This was revealed by Motorola through the official Weibo account, where Motorola teased the phone in a photo that highlights its extremely thin profile. Set to compete head-to-head with the Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge and Apple iPhone Air, the Moto X70 Air promises to marry sharp looks with advanced hardware.

Motorola Confirms Launch of Moto X70 Air
From the teaser, the Moto X70 Air will reportedly launch in China by the end of October 2025. Although the brand hasn't confirmed a specific launch date, the post suggests a sleek build and premium design. The teaser image reveals the phone held horizontally, showcasing its slender profile with volume and power buttons on the right side.
The phone also comes with a green color option, alongside a sophisticated copper-accented rear camera module. While Motorola hasn't announced the complete range of finishes as yet, additional colors will likely be available at launch. The rear camera arrangement appears to consist of at least two sensors, placed within a housing camera island, further adding to the premium look of the phone.
Slimmest Motorola Smartphone Ever?
The Moto X70 Air is set to be one of the thinnest Android phones in 2025. Although the company has not officially announced its thickness, rumors indicate that it might be between 5.6mm and 5.8mm.
For comparison:
Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge came out earlier this year with a 5.8mm thin build.
Apple iPhone Air is currently Apple's thinnest phone at 5.6mm.
Tecno Pova Slim 5G, launched in India last month, has a thickness of 5.95mm.
If Motorola is able to deliver within this thickness, Moto X70 Air can go head-to-head with Samsung and Apple in the ultra-slim smartphone segment.
Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 Under the Hood Expected
Although Motorola has not revealed the specs of the Moto X70 Air, insiders heavily believe that it will come with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset.
Motorola is already on board as one of Qualcomm's launch partners for the new flagship mobile platform, so the Moto X70 Air would be a prime candidate to launch with this chip. The Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 offers best-in-class performance, AI-optimized optimizations, and cutting-edge efficiency, which means the Moto X70 Air will be able to go toe-to-toe with the top Android and iOS devices in 2025.
A number of upcoming flagship devices, such as the Xiaomi 17 series, Honor Magic 8, iQOO 15, OnePlus 15, and Realme GT 8 Pro, are also known to use the same chipset. If Motorola gets a head start with the launch, the X70 Air would get a significant boost over other flagship devices in the market.
AI Capabilities Teased
Aside from performance and design, Motorola has also alluded to AI-centered features in the teaser. Although specifics are kept under wraps, we can look forward to AI-enabled photography, personalization, and intelligent software optimizations in keeping with the current trend in the industry.
The Moto X70 Air is already creating robust hype with its super-thin design, flagship processor, and high-end build. With Samsung, Apple, Xiaomi, and other major players increasing competition, Motorola's aggressive entry into the super-thin flagship space could be a defining moment for the brand.
We won't know full specs, pricing, or availability until the official release in late October. For now, the Moto X70 Air is one of the most anticipated 2025 smartphones.
