Vivo has launched the new Vivo Y600 Turbo in China featuring a huge 9,020mAh battery, Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 processor, 120Hz AMOLED display, 90W fast charging, and IP69 rating.

Chinese mobile phone brand Vivo is making an all-out effort in the mid-range mobile phone market with the release of a new phone called Vivo Y600 Turbo in China. Lately, Vivo has been launching its Y-series products with rapid pace, and following the launch of its latest Vivo Y600 Pro that sports an immense 10,200mAh battery, Vivo now launches another battery-oriented phone that really catches the eyes for its immense power.
The latest Vivo Y600 Turbo comes packed with a huge 9,020mAh battery, ranking it one of the highest in terms of battery size in the mainstream market segment of phones. Whereas mid-range phones normally sport batteries with capacities between 5,000mAh and 6,000mAh, Vivo wants to make itself distinct from other brands by targeting customers who look for long-lasting batteries above anything else.
Vivo Y600 Turbo Focuses Heavily on Battery Life
The most talked-about feature of the Vivo Y600 Turbo is without a doubt the massive 9,020mAh battery. Vivo assures consumers that this phone would provide enough battery life for up to two days of intense usage even for heavy consumers. No matter whether one is playing games, watching movies, browsing through social networking sites or participating in online conference calls, the huge battery capacity of this model will take care of constant charging worries.

The aspect which renders the battery interesting is Vivo’s statement about the long-lasting performance of the battery. As per the brand, the battery would be able to retain at least 80% of its capacity even after 1,200 charge cycles. The battery might prove useful for those customers who do not change their mobile phones too often.
Another noteworthy feature provided by Vivo is the inclusion of 90W fast charging in the smartphone. One need not wait endlessly for the phone to get charged completely since fast charging ensures this process happens quickly. Moreover, the Vivo Y600 Turbo will be able to provide reverse wired charging, which means that users will have an opportunity to charge their earbuds, smartwatch, or even another phone by connecting them to the Vivo device.
Another notable aspect is that this model of the Vivo phone may compete with such phones as OnePlus Nord 6. The latter model is also known for being quite advanced in terms of the battery's performance.
Large AMOLED Display Designed for Entertainment and Gaming
In addition to battery longevity, Vivo is aiming to attract multimedia enthusiasts and gamers through the display specifications of the Y600 Turbo model. The smartphone boasts a huge 6.83 inches AMOLED screen with a 1.5K resolution of 2800×1260 pixels.
Moreover, the screen supports fast 120Hz refresh rate, meaning that transitions and animations will look smoother when gaming or switching between apps. These days, high refresh rates have become a must-have on mid-range devices, and it looks like Vivo is going to keep pace with its rivals.
One of the notable display specs is the peak brightness of 5,000 nits. Provided that it works as advertised, viewing the phone outdoors will be an absolute delight even with intense sun.
Finally, an AMOLED screen guarantees vivid colours and deep blacks when watching movies or playing video games.
Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 Powers the Vivo Y600 Turbo
On the inside, the Vivo Y600 Turbo runs on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 chip. This chipset has gained popularity among mid-tier smartphones due to its ability to offer decent performance while remaining energy efficient.
The phone includes up to 12GB LPDDR4X RAM and up to 512GB UFS 3.1 internal storage, thus offering great multitasking capabilities when used both daily and for more intensive applications like games.
Though the chipset cannot go head-to-head with flagship SoCs, it will be able to cope with demanding applications and even current-generation games. With such high-end hardware and a large battery, the Vivo Y600 Turbo can become an excellent choice for mobile gamers focusing on battery life.
Camera Setup Remains Basic
While the Vivo Y600 Turbo shines with its features such as the battery and screen size, its camera seems to be quite unimpressive compared to certain competitors in this pricing range.
There are a 50MP main camera on the back and 2MP depth sensors in the smartphone. In addition, there is an 8MP front-facing camera in the device.
While this configuration might suffice for basic shooting and social media posts, those hoping to get better results out of their cameras will be let down since the phone does not have an ultrawide-angle camera or telephoto lens.
With smartphones incorporating three-lens configurations and even more photography-oriented settings in this range today, the camera hardware in this phone does not seem too innovative but rather practical.
Android 16 and Premium Durability Features
Out of the box, the Vivo Y600 Turbo comes with OriginOS 6 powered by Android 16. This ensures that the user gets access to the newest version of Android alongside all the UI improvements offered by Vivo.
Also worth mentioning is the presence of both the IP68 and IP69 ratings on the device. The fact that this phone has been rated both of these indicates that the device is quite durable and resistant to dust and water damage.
It should be noted that such durability ratings have not yet become common among mid-range devices.
Vivo Y600 Turbo Price and Availability
The price tag for the Vivo Y600 Turbo phone begins at an amount of CNY 2,299, which approximately equals Rs 32,300. Given the price range, Vivo plans to target the premium mid-ranger market segment with its latest device.
As of today, there is no official confirmation about the global or even Indian availability of the device. Nevertheless, having in mind the popularity of Vivo's devices among the Indian consumers, the company might consider launching the model in India.
Once released in India, the smartphone may be interesting to those customers who are searching for a device featuring long battery life, an AMOLED screen, and excellent performance.
Vivo Y600 Turbo certainly seems like a smartphone designed for a unique set of customers. For those who need the longest possible battery life from their smartphones, then this model will undoubtedly be among the most intriguing mid-range devices available right now. Coupled with an impressive AMOLED display, quick charging, and solid performance, it makes for an appealing offer for gamers and media consumers.
Nevertheless, photography enthusiasts will definitely consider other models featuring flexible camera systems, as they have no choice but to wait until independent reviews shed light on the practical efficiency, thermal management, optimization, and photography performance of this new smartphone.
That said, the current tactics of Vivo are quite obvious; while in the past they concentrated solely on producing ultrathin smartphones, nowadays they decided to tackle one of the most common smartphone pain points the need for a better battery.
