A voice-first, screenless fitness tracker with no subscription fee and a radical idea about how we think about health.

Screenless fitness wearables are far from anything new. The Whoop band has long been a favorite among professional athletes. However, 2026 will see such devices become mainstream thanks to the upcoming release of the Fitbit Air, powered by Google. This isn't the only big player in the market; another upcoming product is the Garmin Cirqa. But there is also one company which is trying hard to get attention, and it does not shy away from innovations: the Luna Band.

The Luna Band was introduced at the beginning of 2026 at CES. It has since undergone numerous updates and optimizations.
What exactly is the Luna Band?
"Like a calendar for your body that is made to make sure you are always at your best," Luna says. That is more than just marketing speak and that actually describes how the device works very accurately. The Luna Band was developed based on an idea referred to as voice-first wearables. Rather than looking at your screen and clicking or using your watch to get information, you can talk to it. This sets it apart from not only the Fitbit Air but also the Whoop.
How LifeOS works
LifeOS is the intelligent brain that controls the Luna Band. It stands for the artificial intelligence-based software engine of Luna. LifeOS constantly receives sensor information from the band, including heart rate, sleep patterns, motion, etc. Moreover, LifeOS also uses information collected externally, such as blood markers, medical history, and eating habits.
All the collected data results in creating a unique daily routine for the user. The personalized routine is delivered back to the user via haptic technology, which means gentle vibrations on the wrist. For example, your daily routine may suggest workout and meditation time, along with a reminder to cut off caffeine by a particular hour in the afternoon.
Moreover, a user can log any meal, symptoms, or personal notes without opening the application by voice control. Such voice integration exists for iPhone devices thanks to Siri integration. However, it should be noted that the Luna Band does not contain a microphone inside the band. However, users of Android devices can use the band; they just will not have a voice feature.
Features worth knowing about
In addition to the planning capabilities offered by AI technology, the Luna Band monitors sleep and fertility levels. The associated app offers several “micro-apps” that Luna has made available in order to train, manage stress, and enhance productivity. In addition, one can create personal health apps according to individual preferences. This customizability is rare for a device of this class.
Price and the no-subscription advantage
While Luna has not yet officially quoted a specific price for the product, it hinted at Tech Advisor that it is expected to cost roughly £115 or $149. It is cheaper compared to most premium wearables out there. More than that, there is no monthly subscription involved.
On the other hand, Whoop comes with a subscription plan that will unlock all its features. Google Health Premium, formerly known as Fitbit Premium, likewise offers a subscription service for unlocking additional features. But with Luna Band, you only have to pay one time and you'll have everything available to you.
Who should consider the Luna Band?
The Luna Band works best for those who like a schedule. If you have a very detailed schedule which needs to be adjusted according to the actual condition of your body using technology, this particular gadget is made just for you. An hour by hour plan is unique in this regard.
It will work great for iPhone users due to its voice logging powered by Siri. However, Android users can also take advantage of this product with regard to health tracking and LifeOS planning. They will only lack the hands-free logging facility.
Release date and how to get one
Luna Band will be unveiled towards the end of July 2026. Drop 1 will have limited availability for invitees only. If interested in participating in the unveiling, visit the website of Luna for early registration. Although there’s no assurance that you’ll be among the invitees, the earlier you register, the better your chances of being included.
Unlike any other screenless tracker, the Luna Band comes with innovative features such as AI-powered planning for the day, Siri voice logging, and subscription-free plans. Costing $149, the Luna Band is an audacious wearable with a distinct vision. As to whether the LifeOS software lives up to its expectations, it remains to be seen, but the Luna Band is certainly one of the most exciting wearables in 2026.
